Competing states in the two-dimensional frustrated Kondo-necklace model

چکیده
The interplay between Kondo screening, indirect magnetic interaction and geometrical frustration is studied in the two-dimensional Kondo-necklace model on triangular lattice. Using infinite projected entangled pair states (iPEPS), we compute ground state as a function of antiferromagnetic local $J_K$ Ising-type direct spin-spin $I_z$ . As opposed to previous studies, do not find partial screening (PKS) isotropic limit $I_z = 0$ but same behavior unfrustrated case, i.e. phase transition paradigmatic phases Doniach competition: (i) disordered consisting spin-singlets at strong (ii) magnetically ordered weak For > 0$, PKS again opposite that competition with second candidate found before. This characterized by strongly polarized central spin each hexagon its anti-parallel, weakly (i.e. partially screened) neighbors. We name it (CS) phase.

Quantum Critical Behavior of the Anisotropic Kondo Necklace Model
We have studied the effect of anisotropies on the quantum phase transition of the Kondo necklace model in dimensions D=1, 2 and 3. Both the anisotropy δ of the inter-site interaction term and anisotropy ∆ of the on-site Kondo interaction have been included. We use a bond operator method with constraints implemented in mean field approximation. Starting from the paramagnetic phase we determine t...
متن کاملFinite-temperature properties of the two-dimensional Kondo lattice model
Using the recently developed Lanczos technique we study finite-temperature properties of the 2D Kondo lattice model at various fillings of the conduction band. At half filling the quasiparticle gap governs physical properties of the chemical potential and the charge susceptibility at small temperatures. In the intermediate coupling regime quasiparticle gap scales approximately linearly with the...
متن کاملCharge order in a two-dimensional Kondo lattice model.
The possibility of charge order is theoretically examined for the Kondo lattice model in two dimensions, which does not include bare repulsive interactions. Using two complementary numerical methods, we find that charge order appears at quarter filling in an intermediate Kondo coupling region. The charge ordered ground state is an insulator exhibiting an antiferromagnetic order at charge-poor s...
متن کاملField induced quantum phase transition in the anisotropic Kondo necklace model
The anisotropic Kondo necklace model in 2D and 3D is treated as a genuine model for magnetic to Kondo singlet quantum phase transitions in the heavy fermion (HF) compounds. The variation of the quantum critical point (QCP) with anisotropy parameters has been investigated previously in the zero field case [1]. Here we extend the treatment to finite fields using a generalised bond operator repres...
متن کاملTwo dimensional Ising model with long-range competing interactions
The two-dimensional Ising model with competing short range ferromagnetic interactions and long range antiferro-magnetic interactions is perhaps the most simple one containing the minimal microscopic ingredients necessary for an appropriate description of the macroscopic properties of ultrathin films and quasi−two−dimensional magnetic materials. Despite such relative simplicity, the frustration ...
